Two theme pavilions ¨C GPS and Automotive Semiconductors, to drive tomorrow's trend for the Automobile Electronics Industry

Along with the development in technology and its revolution, the intellectual digital technology concept car became one of the newest business opportunities in the 21st centry. The integration of mobile communication systems (also known as Telematics) into the automobile industry is the key element for such intelligent car. The Taipei International Automobile Electronics Show (AutoTronics Taipei), the first professional automobile electronics exhibition in Asia, is arranged for a grand opening at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1 from April 2nd to 5th, 2007. Thanks to the careful cultivation from the organizers - the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (TEEMA), the Taipei International Automobile Electronics Show (AutoTronics Taipei) has became a strategically important target for most Taiwan automobile electronics manufacturers every year. In addition, this exhibition is also consider as one of the best choices for the international buyers to purchase in Taiwan. In order to attract the international potential buyers and to catch their attention on many splendid multi-topics, as well as to motivate the cluster's effect of the automobile electronics industry, two theme pavilions ¨C the GPS (Global Positioning System) and Automotive Semiconductors, have been carfully planned by the organizers to promote the trading market regarding the automobile electronics.

This time, the GPS theme pavilion will put its focus on demostrating the powerful vertical integration of Taiwan's GPS industry chain. Owing to the folowing factors such as - the China government's strong support to its automobile industry and the peripheral demands for both the 2008 Olympic in Beijing and the 2010 World's Fair in Shanghai, potential buyers from China is predicted to be one of the most desirable visitors of the 2007 Taipei International Automobile Electronics Show. It is estimated that the demand of automobile electronics in China's market will grow at a steady rate of 26.4% In the next five years. China has became an important market for Taiwanese automobile electronics's twofold demand of production and selling. Although a few of manufacturers in Taiwan and China have the ability to develop the Micro-processor Unit (MPU) or the Micro-control Unit (MCU) for car application, the research and development (R&D) that relates to automotive semiconductors is still very limited. Therefore the organizers are planning a theme pavilion dedicated to the topic of automotive semiconductors. It is hoped to thoughfully demostrate the uniquely superior ability on the R&D of some principal manufacturers, as well as solution packages for advanced products regarding the application of automotive semiconductors, by utilising platforms constructed in this exhibiton. Moreover, this show will also provide another excellent opportunity for the cooperation among the automotive semiconductor manufacturers worldwide and the manufacturers from bothsides of the Taiwan Strait. With solid supports from leading manufacturers regarding automotive electronics, it is believed that the manufacturers in bothsides of the Taiwan Strait can be good automobile R&D parters, and together accomplish a sucessful global connection.
