The development in the GPS Navigation System has eventually reached to maturity, owing to the motivation of automobile industry in recent years. According to the prediction made by the Topology Research Institute (TRI), the shipment of Portable Navigation Devices can be up to 10.83 million sets in the year of 2006. Comparing with the shipment (50.24 million sets) in the year of 2005, there is growth of 115%. Moreover, it is speculated that the shipment will be up to 17.89 million sets in 2007, and the shipment will possible be up to 27.09 million sets by the year of 2008. The compound rate of growth is approximated as big as 49% from the year of 2006 to 2010. Furthermore, huge business opportunities regarding the GPS Navigation Devices will also be released by the China government on the need to upgrade the transpotation system and logistics, in order to have a sucessful 2008 Olympic (in Beijing) and the 2010 World's Fair (in Shanghai). Therefore, it is recognised that the establishment of a GPS theme pavilion, in the 2007 Taipei International Automobile Electronics Show, is really a smart arrangement planned by the organizers, in order to focus all the Chain Stores in the global After-market as well as the potential buyers from China.
